All volunteers either need a car to transport themselves or to carpool to get to one place or another. We recommend renting your own car if it all possible, however, the camp in Kavala is within 45 minutes of the city center by foot. Local busses and taxis are also available.
We have a two small apartments available for coordinators and long-term volunteers on a very limited basis. The cost to stay in the Northern Lights apartments is €15 per night for the first two weeks, then €60 per month after the first month for long-term stays. Rooms in the Northern Lights apartments are shared and co-ed. If you prefer a single room or our house is full, there are plenty of hotels and vacation rentals in or around Kavala which typically cost at minimum 40 euros per night.
*Important: Please contact us in advance if you want to stay in one the Northern Lights apartments. Space is very limited.
